(ABC 6 News) -- On Wednesday, October 11th, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office was notified by the Olmsted County child protection services office about a child who had been sexually abused.

According to Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns, the sheriff's office interviewed the 12-year-old victim on Tuesday, October 17th. The victim told authorities that the abuse began when the victim was five-years-old, and the suspect is a man the victim knows. The victim said suspect would sometimes put straps on their arms and back, and sexually assault them over a lawnmower.

Also on Tuesday, the sheriff's office interviewed the suspect, 26-year-old Michael Watson of Rochester. Capt. Behrns says Watson admitted that sexual acts did occur with the child.
