(ABC 6 News) -- According to Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns, a 55-year-old man was hit by a truck while riding his bicycle in Marion Township.

It happened around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 19th. The victim told authorities he was riding his bike east on 20th Street near the intersection of 40th Ave. The man said a pickup truck hit him from behind, throwing him and his bike onto the pavement and into a ditch.

The man did not get a good description of the suspect vehicle, however he did see that after the truck hit him, it almost hit a woman driving another vehicle. The victim recognized the woman driving that vehicle and gave her name to the sheriff's office. A deputy contacted the woman and said she gave a good description of the vehicle.
She described it as a 2000s-era blue pickup truck with a white stripe down the middle. She said two men were inside in their 20s or 30s.

Authorities found a side mirror of the truck in the road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.
